GEERING FIRES TO WIN SHOOTOUT SERIES OPENER

Craig Geering

THE opening salvo has been fired in the NSW Litre Sprintcar Associations’ ShootOut Series – with Craig Geering dominating the opening round at Gunnedah Speedway.

Geering, backed by C&A Mobile Sound, Rhino Car Alarms, Axis Car Audio, Hume Smash Repairs and Danny’s Mobile Electrics, was in awesome form throughout the event, held earlier this month.

The talented steerer finished ahead of a hard charging Clayton Priest – last year’s joint champion - in second and Paul Freeman in third, in the Pit Crew sponsored race meeting.

The next round of the Shoot Out Series hits Nowra Speedway on December 15, ahead of rounds at Tyrepower Parramatta City Raceway on December 29, and a return to Nowra on Australia Day.

Round 5 will see the action return to country NSW for a meeting at Gilgandra on February 23 and a welcome return to Parramatta for the ShootOut Series final on March 8.

Naming right sponsorships for individual rounds still exist and enquires can be made through Peter Brisbane on 0412 92 1004 or via email:

GAME ON - THE 2007/2008 LITRE SPRINTCAR SHOOTOUT

JOINT DEFENDING champion Clayton Priest

JOINT DEFENDING champion Clayton Priest will be primed and ready when the 2007/2008 Litre Sprintcar Shootout fires its first shot this weekend at Gunnedah Speedway.

Supported by Pit Crew - the opening round of the Shootout series - spread across six rounds at a variety of NSW tracks - is this Saturday night and a number of the State's top Litre Sprintcar drivers will be on hand to battle it out.

Backed by Nationwide Air, Priest will be up against regular Sydney rival Shane Cooper in the Mortgage Wisdom machine, with Aussie Title pole sitter Steve Troughton and the always competitive Craig Geering also in the fray.

Add in Paul Freeman, AJ McTaggart and the well presented OSP machine of Scott Lewin, and there are more than a few drivers aiming to get into the winners circle.

Racing starts at 6pm, with the Litre Sprintcars doing battle over three rounds of heats before the best will come together for the Feature race, in what is expected to be a hard fought and fiery battle.

Gunnedah Speedway is located on Bluevale Rd Gunnedah in the north west of NSW. The track is approximately 3 and a half hours from Newcastle, 6 hours from Brisbane and 1 hour from Tamworth
